Following up on the previous day’s workshop, the work continues with finishing and completing the wooden stools. The workshop then focuses on surface treatment methods – soaping, waxing and oiling – examining their differences and how each alters the feel and character of the wood. The history and processes of wood staining are introduced, followed by hands-on experimentation with various techniques.
