The Nose of Orson Welles is the second issue of an occasional magazine initiated and edited by Nerijus Rimkus. Pictured here is the first page of the issue installed at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts as part of SupaStore Academy. Its coordinates refer to its exact location. The first issue (51°59’17.5″N 5°54’55.4″E) is still mounted on the outside wall of Werkplaats Typografie, Arnhem, The Netherlands.

The title of the project refers to the cinematographer Orson Welles’ use of fake noses to change the morphology of his own face when appearing in (his own) films. Simultaneously the title is a suggestion to how one alters their response and purpose according to a certain location or context.

Each of the contributors that will be invited by Rimkus to be involved in the magazine will be asked to respond to this with a contribution from their own practice.
