On Tuesday, 17 December, Ines Karčáková welcomes everyone to her studio for a cup of tea between 4pm and 6pm. This open studio event provides an opportunity to discuss her artistic practice and the research she conducted during her time in Nida.

During her two-month residency, Karčáková’s interdisciplinary research focused on the lives of birds, which included an exploration of the dynamics of migration and its ecological, biological, and symbolic aspects. Her approach connected the natural phenomenon of bird migration with questions related to human expansion into space, drawing parallels between the natural movements of species and humanity’s technologically mediated ambitions.

This theme forms the foundation of her emerging project, which navigates the boundary between fiction and reality.

Organised by Ines Karčáková as part of her NAC artist residency.
