  • Collaborative residency with Petrohradská kolektiv

Ines Karčáková is a multimedia artist and researcher based in Prague. She examines photography’s qualities through video installations. Her earlier work focused on astrophotography and the contrast between raw telescope images and aestheticised photos that popularise astronomy. Now, she is forming an arc over the schematic and romanticised visions of cosmic distances, coming back to much more terrestrial problems. Her work highlights the imbalance between technological advancement and understanding, along with long-term environmental neglect.

Her article on the topic of the universe and its public media perception was published in Art Antique and discussed on Czech Radio. She has curated various projects and co-directed the Panel gallery in Prague. Her exhibitions have been showcased in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Paris, Belgrade and Budapest. She also collaborates with Haenke – Botanical and Creative Laboratory to raise awareness of plant biodiversity’s health benefits. In 2024, she was nominated by Fotograf magazine for the FUTURES platform.
