Johanna Bruckner (*1984) is a visual artist based in Zurich. Her work is characterised by a multimedia approach in which the performance of the human body plays a predominant role. Her installations formally present a combination of technological machinery and organic bodies, where videos generated with computer graphic software regularly appear accompanied by sound compositions. In her work, she investigates themes related to biopolitics, queer-feminism, and post-humanism, while including imagery associated with queer pornography and intra-species relations.

Most notable exhibitions include: House of Electronic Arts, Basel; Berlinische Galerie, Museum of Modern Art, Berlin; SCHIRN Kunsthalle Frankfurt; MAXXI – Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Geneva.
