Queer Falafel is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist who intersects visuals, live music and body to explore their ethnic and gender identity. Their first piece Los Papeles (2018) tells the story of a queer relationship they had in Beirut and the unjust process of immigration to Europe. Their second docu-theatre piece PAREMEU (2019) is a portrait of their father in which they talk about their relationship, masculinity, homosexuality and the Lebanese civil war. Their third piece TECNÒCRATA (2021) explores the fetishisation of queer Arab identities. In 2022, alongside Mad Monkey, they created BLAST, an Electro Arab music duo. The GenderFuck persona Queer Falafel was born in 2022 and has been performing in politicised queer and BIPOC spaces, creating references for queer Arabs.
