In this hands-on workshop, participants build simple, asymmetrical stools with legs – structures that depend on a connection with trees or forest soil for stability. These stools cannot stand alone; they lean, anchor, or rest against living environments and require the balance of the human body. Seats and legs made from wood from the Curonian Spit are prepared, adapted and assembled using joints.

Workshops take place as part of the exhibition ‘Neringa Wood Works’ by Neringa Forest Architecture, during which the exhibition space of Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts becomes a studio—a space to work with wood from the Curonian Spit. The workshops will continue until the end of August.
‘Neringa Wood Works’ is funded by Lithuanian Council for Culture, Neringa Municipality and Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council.
