We are glad to contribute to the 2026 Art Criticism Awards by establishing a special prize: a one-week creative retreat at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts.
The Art Criticism Awards, taking place on 22 June at the National Gallery of Art, will bring together for the fourth time authors who wrote last year about the most compelling events, phenomena, and experiences in the Lithuanian art scene. This year, texts and initiatives were nominated in four categories: Short Texts, Long Texts, Varied Texts, and Phenomenon of the Year.
For VAA Nida Art Colony, it is important to support not only artistic creation, but also reflection on art, criticism, and writing as an independent creative practice. We hope that the laureate’s time in Neringa will offer a space for concentration, research, writing, and new ideas.
The 2026 Art Criticism Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, 22 June, at 7:30 pm at the National Gallery of Art.
