On Wednesday, 5 August, from 20:15 to 21:15, we invite you to Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts for a listening session of Triton by Invernomuto.
The Italian artist duo Invernomuto, comprising Simone Bertuzzi and Simone Trabucchi, presents the work Triton – a cross-media project combining sculpture, sound, and storytelling as part of the group exhibition ‘Dune’ in Neringa.
The work is attuned to a real colony of salamanders living in two ancient rock basins in Pietra Perduca, Northern Italy. Linking Neringa to this amphibian colony, Triton exists simultaneously as a musical instrument and an ambient presence, its grass-green light and sound permeating the exhibition and proposing an alternative mode of listening to non-human worlds.
The listening session is scheduled to coincide with the sunset in Pietra Perduca. Visitors will be able to sit or lie down while listening to the work. Mint tea made with herbs from the local garden will be served.
Admission is free.
A second listening session will take place on Friday, 21 August.
