Application deadline: 11 November 2024

NAC and AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE Niederösterreich have conducted an annual residency exchange since 2013, making it possible for artists from Lithuania to undertake a residency in Krems and artists from Austria to undertake a residency in Nida.

AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE Niederösterreich is a multidisciplinary fellowship programme located in Krems an der Donau. In 2025, the programme invites architects, visual artists, musicians, and writers to live and work in Lower Austria for two periods of five weeks and to get to know the entire spectrum of local cultural institutions. In addition to realising exhibitions, concerts, readings, and workshops, particular emphasis is placed on the production of work on site.

The city of Krems is located directly on the Danube, approximately 80 km from Vienna and 30 km from St. Pölten, the capital of Lower Austria. One of the oldest cities in Austria, Krems and the Wachau were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
