Juliane Jaschnow works across video, film, installation, sculpture, intervention and print. Her practice explores media realities and representations, memory politics and the associated role of visual culture. She is interested in forms of appropriation and (re-)construction of collective narratives, language and images as identity-forming subjects and tools of control and manipulation. Most recently, in her multi-part work Rekapitulieren / Recapitulate, she examines the instrumentalisation of collective memory within the current German-Russian culture of remembrance of the Second World War.
