Hanneriina Moisseinen

Hanneriina Moisseinen is a graphic novel artist with a background in fine art. She has been awarded Puupäähattu prize, the State Prize for Comics Art, among others. She has published several graphic novel books on original themes at the intersection of personal and collective memory, such as Isä / Father (2013), Kannas / The Isthmus (2016) and, together with E.L. Karhu, Ajan rajalla / Notes from the Underworld (2024). Moisseinen’s most recent work is the animated documentary film Photographs Not Taken (2025), about the early photographer Julia Widgrén and the women in her family.  Moisseinen’s works works have been acquired to the collections of several art museums. Moisseinen works at the Research Department of the Finnish Literature Society in Helsinki.
