Charlotte Yao
Charlotte Yao is a Chinese-Canadian artist, curator, and researcher currently pursuing her practice-based PhD at the University of Arts London. Her creative journey delves into the heart of Chinese diasporic feminist narratives, weaving together moving images, photography, installation, and experimental writing in a tapestry of reflection and resilience.
With a commitment to autotheoretical traditions, Charlotte brings her own fragmented experiences to life, illuminating the patriarchal shadows that stretch across both homeland and diaspora. She seeks to foster deep empathetic connections and nurtures community, inviting audiences to share in the dialogue that challenges dominant cultural narratives.
