Meeting with Ali Şahin

On the occasion of and following the ELIA EDI Platform Meeting on April 15–16 in Nida, join the informal meeting with EDI officer Ali Şahin in Vilnius to address your questions, concerns, insights, and experiences related to inclusivity, equity, and diversity at VDA and within the VDA community. Students, faculty, technical, and administrative staff members are all encouraged to participate in this initial meeting to create space and initiate discussions on these community matters.
Ali Şahin (he/his) is a policy advisor specializing in equity, diversity, and inclusivity and serves as one of the project leaders of the Office for Inclusivity at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. He approaches his work through the lens of community care and social justice, organizing and leading safe(r) space gatherings for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color that prioritize connectedness, solidarity, and communal healing.
The meeting will be conducted in English, with ad-hoc whisper translations available to facilitate communication across various languages and support mutual understanding.
