Taavi Varm
Taavi Varm is an Estonian new media artist and researcher specialising in interactive technologies and audio-video design, focusing on mental health. As a junior researcher and PhD student at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA), his work integrates participatory learning, co-creation, and experimental video game design to enhance young adults’ mental well-being.
With over two decades of teaching experience, Varm co-directs the Videogames in Arts Lab and courses at EKA, exploring the intersection of video games and art. Since 2001, he has created video designs for over fifty theatrical productions and is renowned for his expertise in large-scale projection mapping for unique environments.
Together with his wife, designer Anni Varm, he co-runs Varm Studio, a hybrid design company. Additionally, he is part of the ambient music duo Varm & Correia, delving into the therapeutic potential of music.
