Monika Klimaitė
Monika Klimaitė is a theatre director. She received her BA degree in Theatre Directing at Klaipeda University in Lithuania and her MA degree in Performance Practices and Research at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. Klimaitė is a PhD student in artistic research at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Her professional experience lies in classical, postdramatic and physical theatre practices achieved and mastered in Lithuania, the UK, Denmark, the USA and Lebanon. Klimaitė has been working professionally as a freelance theatre director since 2014, in different repertory theatres of Lithuania and Latvia including Kaunas National Theatre, Lithuanian State Youth Theatre, Siauliai drama theatre, J. Miltinis theatre, and Liepaja drama theatre. As a researcher, she is interested in the creative and strategic forms of collective creation in the environment of performance making, specifically from the director’s point of view.
