Jack Faber

Jack Faber is a Helsinki-based award-winning filmmaker and artist-researcher, investigating the security economy’s influence on multispecies relations and its role as a climate crisis catalyst. His interdisciplinary practice focuses on surveillance art and moving images as means of questioning the militarisation and privatisation of public spaces, using drones and new technologies in unexpected ways. In his work, he examines the possibilities of emancipatory engagements through a hybrid of salvaged footage, archival materials, documentation and scripted materials. He sensitively uses humour, transgression and cinematic immersion for in-depth explorations which highlight inequality and oppression in relation to animals, AI and human rights.
