Gerda Liudvinavičiūtė
Gerda Liudvinavičiūtė is a Lithuanian artist and designer currently focused on the reimagination of human beings and other life forms. With degrees in product design, psychology, and health studies, she has merged all her knowledge into artistic research, exploring the vagus nerve, which she calls ‘a beast-like creature that controls us from within.’ Through rituals, meditation, movement practices, and processes that surround our bodies, Liudvinavičiūtė invites audiences to rethink the forms of human existence and life.

What would design look like if we were not designing for people but for the vagus nerve, for the beings within and around us? Gerda is a PhD candidate in Design at Vilnius Academy of Arts.
Additionally, she owns the jewelry brand CELSIUS 273. As a designer, she has won several awards, including the GOOD DESIGN AWARD, A’ Design Award, and DFA Design Award. Her design pieces are sold in various museums such as the Guggenheim and the Lithuanian Modern Art Museum. She has exhibited her work at Paris Design Week, ATELIERS PRO ARTS A.P.A GALLERY in Budapest, Les Boréales, DesignArt Tokyo festivals, the Design Museum in Vienna, the Lithuanian Museum of Applied Arts and Design, and other museums and galleries.
