Florian Schattauer

After completing Law School in Vienna, Florian Schattauer trained as an Arts Manager at New York University and the Vienna Academy of Music and Performing Arts. Before venturing into film, Schattauer produced Off Broadway theatre and worked as a fundraiser for individual artists in New York. He is an independent producer and co-founder of Süd Nord Film, Shadowy Meadows Productions and Blackboard Trust. Schattauer has taught and held seminars at the University of Vienna, Wits University, Webster University, and NYU amongst others. His producing credits include We Remember Differently (2005), I Mike What I Like (2006), Long Street (2009), Elelwani (2012), Impunity (2014), When I Grow Up I Want to be a Black Man (2017), Cause of Death (2020), and Loving in Between (2023).

He and/or his projects and films have been invited to the Mannheim Meetings, the Cannes Producer’s Network, Durban Film Festival, Pusan, Toronto International Film Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival, the Berlinale, and Locarno International Film Festival.
