On Friday, 13 November, we invite you to the Šaltenis Auditorium at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts (E. A. Jonušo g. 3, Nida) to meet three artists from the international residency programme SODAS 2123 A-I-R.

Coming from Norway, Sweden and Georgia, the three artists bring distinct creative practices and perspectives, which they will share through presentations of their work and research.

This visit is part of our collaboration with SODAS 2123, bringing together artists from both residency programmes and creating opportunities for exchange and new connections.

Programme:

15:00–16:00 Julia Constance Wiger-Nordås (Norway)
16:00–17:00 Aron Fogelström (Sweden)
17:00–18:00 Mariam Shakarashvili (Georgia)

Julia Constance Wiger-Nordås is an experimental artist, composer, singer from Norway, leaning into intuition, texture blocks, and radicality. She sings at sacred painting exhibitions, writes poetic text, composes handwritten music, improvises with strangers, creates concerts with silence, exhibits fragments, performs the secrets. Her practice lives in sketches, longing and veils. Her current work explores the poetic qualities of the skin and the possibility of touching the invisible.

Aron Fogelström is an audio-visual artist and filmmaker who works with linguistic science fiction through sound, architecture and speculative storytelling. Working across film, installation, performance and sound, he develops narratives in which voices, bodies and spaces interact within and without language, producing shifting experiences of belonging, disorientation and collective sense-making in contemporary life. Fogelström graduated from the Royal Institute of Art (KKH) in Stockholm in 2025, where he studied in the professor groups of Ming Wong and later Tris Vonna-Michell. At KKH, he co-taught two courses in sound-based artistic practice (2024 and 2025) together with Stella Dieden Richter under the platform Don’t Bring an Instrument, focusing on experimental approaches to listening, voice and collective sound-making.

Both, Julia and Aron, are part of the Resistance Song Residency programme, an international residency programme, exploring the political, social, and affective dimensions of song and collective voice. Curators/coordinators of the Resistance Song Residency at SODAS 2123: Agnė Bagdžiūnaitė, Vaidas Bartušas.

Resistance Song Residency is supported by the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Mariam Shakarashvili is a Georgian artist and curator, living and working between Tbilisi and Gori, Georgia. Her multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, installation, and performance, exploring identity, memory, perception, and transformation through the interplay of language, image, and personal experience. A central element of her work is Georgian script, which she approaches as a visual and conceptual language, often transforming it into asemic writing, gesture, rhythm, and abstraction. She holds BA and MA degrees in Painting from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and has an extensive curatorial practice, developing international exhibitions, artist residencies, and cultural collaborations across Europe.

Mariam Shakarashvili’s residency at SODAS 2123 is implemented within the framework of the „International Study Visit Programme“, one of the components of the Creative Compass Georgia project. Creative Compass Georgia project is funded by EU and co-funded and implemented by the Goethe-Institut Georgien.

SODAS 2123 activities are supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Vilnius city municipality.
