„(Per)forming Scapes” moves to Vilnius

A part of the exhibition (Per)forming Scapes continues by transfering to Vilnius, VAA/Outdoors Expo  for one month on the 6th of September, 5pm and is going to take part at the Vilnius Gallery Weekend!

The landscape of Curonian Spit is (per)formed, phytocracy is established in Neringa, the exhibition halls become gyms, it is discovered that the local mentality is formed by constant work in a specific landscape, and traditional singing turns into an animalistic snarl and rumble.

Throughout May and July, VAA Nida Art Colony and the entire area of Curonian Spit has turned into a testing ground and a research laboratory where exhibition participants were discussing the relationship between human and nature on various scales: from vast geological landscape to symbiosis with smallest plants, from park and other regulations to psychophysical provisions. This intense residency period has turned into an exhibition (Per)forming Scapes at VAA Nida Art Colony that intertwined landscape architecture, geography, biology, sculpture, work ethics, choreography, new media, and performative practices.

Now the procumentation (proactive documentation) of the exhibition (Per)forming Scapes is presented at the VAA/Outdoors Expo pavilion of Ceramics Creative Centre until the 5th of October. Few exhibition objects  have been relocated to Vilnius where they once again (per)form the landscape of Curonian Spit in the cityscape of Vilnius Old Town. The QR codes and hyperlinks transfer the spectator to the documentation of the previous exhibition and presented videos.
