Call for contributions for the 5th Inter-format symposium on time (and inter-formativity)
- Published on Friday, 01 May 2015 07:29
Deadline 31st of May, Symposium dates 22–25 August, 2015, Nida
This year marks the fifth iteration for the international symposium and aims to reflect its own course, with the focus on artistic and academic notions of time and inter-formativity itself. The participatory nature of the symposium—between a conference and an art festival—brings together 30–40 professionals for three days and nights to an intensive sharing and working environment.
Artists, curators, scientists, researchers, time-managers and people with interdisciplinary backgrounds are welcome to apply. After being tired of too-short coffee breaks and too-long presentations, we will attempt to re-order extended and condensed time slots, and experiment with formats of presenting and sharing art and knowledge. We seek content and format-based proposals for the limited time we will have together, including proposed schedules, alternative time-keeping or time-wasting tools, chrono-hopes and fears are welcome. Co-curated by dr. Vytautas Michelkevičius (LT) and Andrew Gryf Paterson (SCO/FIN)
Grants: There are a limited amount of travel grants available (up to 200 EUR reimbursement), and we welcome you to co-fund your participation. Food for collective meals (breakfasts and dinners) will be provided for self-organised catering. Accommodation at Nida Art Colony in two to three bedrooms will also be provided.
Both programmes are financed by Lithuanian Council for Culture, Nordic Culture Point and NAC.
