Tanya Busse and Camila Cañeque

Four artists, colorful personalities: Albert Allgaier (AU), Camila Cañeque (ES), Virginia de Diego (ES), Tanya Busse (CAN/NO) will stay at the Nida Art Colony in Autumn.

Albert Allgaier is doing his PhD in Japanese studies. He loves to travel, especially to remote and rather strange places. In his Vienna based project space he organizes participatory art activities, exploring social people relations, one-day exhibitions and other fun events. Albert is also one of the initiators of alternative Bregenz Biennale in his hometown. In Nida the artist
plans to hold several performance sessions of his project Heute (Today).
Camila Cañeque
has a literature and philosophy background. In her work fundamental, existential questions are on focus. The human body, as a psychic and aesthetic object, often appears as a medium in Camila’s artistic research. In Nida Camila is going to create a piece exploring the dialectics of recent history's circularity.
Canadian artist Tanya Busse studied anthropology and art. She currently lives in Tromso, Norway. Artist's main mediums are photography, video and publications. Tanya emphasizes the impact of aesthetics on art objects and often invites designers to collaborate. She works a lot with site-specific projects, exploring identity and its mechanisms of visualization. At Nida Art Colony Tanya is working on a short film centring around a group of girls who live in a remote, small settlement.
Virginia de Diego is a Spanish artist. She finished art and graphic design studies in Madrid. In her artistic practises she explores individual and collective memory and their visual manifesta-tions in public spaces. Print art is the main Virginia’s used media in her art practices. During her residence in Nida, Virginia intends to explore the history of Neringa, focusing on the history of villages buried under the sand.
