On the 31st of October Nida Art Colony will host a second Creative Documentary Thursday with documentaries by studio "Nominum". On screen tomorrow, according to the specified programme, will be the film "Before Flying Back to Earth" by Arūnas Matelis, thus the earlier announced film by Arūnas Mickevičius and the authors visit will be postponed to next Thursday.

In a lyrical, yet unsentimental fashion, it shows the lives of children hospitalized with leukemia in Vilnius Pediatric Hospital - the same place where Matelis' daughter had battled and recovered from this disease some time before the start of production. The film is described as "a poetic, unsentimental Lithuanian documentary about the resilience of (the) human spirit".
"Before Flying Back to Earth" was the first feature length documentary film by Arūnas Matelis. It is considered to be the most highly acclaimed recent Lithuanian film and is considered one of the best documentary films of 2005 in the world. The film was screened in numerous prestigious film festivals and the director was awarded the Best Director award in Documentary Feature category by the Directors Guild of America Awards in 2006.
Film Thursdays in the colony - as are all the good things - are for free, all are welcome.
