As part of the Neringa 586 Anniversary, the month-long anniversary dedicated to the celebration of the historical Postal Road stretching through the Curonian Spit, NAC invites Nida residents and visitors to the second film screening in the series ‘Border Crossings’. The three films dive into complex social and political challenges through the stories of people who experience firsthand the consequences of the newly established fortifications at the EU's northeastern border following the increased border shutdowns over security concerns ever since 2020. The stories captured in the films unfold in Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, and Slovenia.
The screening is made possible thanks to the Borderline Collection project, INSCRIPT, and film director Sasha Ihnatovich. Anna Savchenko, Where the World Ends (film still), 2021. Sasha Ihnatovich, Not Go Gentle (film still), 2022. Vytautas Puidokas, Before They Meet (film still), 2021. |
