As part of a series of events dedicated to the celebration of Neringa’s 586th birthday, NAC opens its doors to visitors interested in learning about the institution and its work as well as the projects that have been developed on site over the last few years. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet NAC’s current artists-in-residence.

The programme showcases the works of NAC artists-in-residence Olena Siyatovska and Anna Dovhan as well as the four films made by students Martin Eichler, Clara Rummer and Helen Andres, Axel Strotmeier, and Martin Sturz from the A...kademie der bildenden Künste Wien, who visited Nida in March 2023 as part of The Political Ecology of the Spit course. Supervisors: Ines Weizman and Christina Condak.

Seven short films draw attention to the theme of physical and fictional borders, a subject particularly relevant to the Curonian Spit. The films focus on the present-day stories of forced displacement, migration, and escape across the borders of reality into the imaginary.

Where the World Ends by Anna Savchenko
Not Go Gentle by Sasha Ihnatovich

Before They Meet by Vytautas Puidokas

The three films dive into complex social and political challenges through the stories of people who experience firsthand the consequences of the newly established fortifications at the EU's northeastern border following the increased border shutdowns over security concerns ever since 2020.

The stories captured in the films unfold in Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, and Slovenia.
