General Premises Manager and Housekeeper

We are looking for a responsible, dedicated, well organised, friendly, communicative and hands on person with technical skills in building maintenance, interest and knowledge of building operating systems, architecture, and infrastructure management.       

This role requires a flexible, quick thinker, and a great team player who is confident at handling challenges, can multitask, and is efficient at managing their workflow independently to ensure the successful day-to-day operation of NAC as well as plan ahead and ensure the long-term wellbeing of the NAC premises.  

Applicants should be fluent in English and Lithuanian, enjoy daily contact and exchange with different people, have attention to detail, and be willing to work in a dynamic, multifunctional culture and education institution.

 

Main duties: 

• Oversee NAC premises (inside and outside), ensure its operations follow the necessary building safety measures;
• Ensure representation, cleanliness and technical functioning of NAC premises (inside and outside);
• Plan and conduct maintenance works on daily, seasonal and annual basis;
• Select companies in charge of technical infrastructure maintenance, supervise their work, contracts and track costs;
• Maintain NAC premises, its workshops, car and overall infrastructure up to standard;
• Oversee and register infrastructure inventory, update, track and file insurance;
• Oversee and instruct staff fire safety and first aid training;  
• Assist in NAC event and project organisation, welcome groups, give introductions to safe workshop use;
• Support Administrators in daily works, welcome guests; 
• Improve and implement necessary changes in NAC infrastructure and housekeeping to ensure economic and ecological building management. 

Desirable skills and attributes: 

• Proven technical skills, experience in building maintenance; 
• Knowledge of premises supervision and an interest in ecological and sustainable ways of maintaining premises;
• Written and spoken Lithuanian and English to at least B2 level;
• Driving licence (B category);
• Experience in working with communication technologies and administration management programmes (such as Microsoft Office and similar);
• Ability to solve problems in a professional manner, provide concise information, know the basic principles of communication and cooperation, collegiality and the norms of official ethics;
• An interest in contemporary culture, history, education fields; 
• Commitment to stay at NAC for at least 2 years.
