Project assistant Daina Pupkeviciute has joined Nida Art Colony Team

From March 12th Nida Art Colony team is getting bigger with a new member of the team. We have got 85 applications and after reviewal and interviews, we have decided to invite Daina Pupkeviciute.

Short bio:

Born in Kaunas (LT) Daina (Dieva) Pupkevičiūtė grew up singing in choirs and ensembles since she was seven, hereby proving to have been given the perfect name (daina (Lithuanian) means a song).
In 2006 she received her bachelor degree in Lithuanian and Foreign (Italian) Language in Vilnius University. In 2007 she left for France to work in "Aye Aye Film Festival". It is here she started studying cinema language, which led her to professional studies of audiovisual technologies in the school of higher musical education in Saluzzo, Italy.

In six years she tried out vj-ing, creating visuals for the contemporary dance performances, until finally settled with documentaries and video-art.
Under the name of Daina Dieva, for several years now she's been playing dark ambient music and collaborating with other artists providing sound design for installations, performances, films.

Since 2001 Daina has participated while organizing various underground concerts and during the last few years has worked for/with several major cinema and music events in Lithuania. In 2012, along with an artist Vaida Tamoševičiūtė, has organized an international performance art festival "CREATurE Live Art", and started performing herself as well.

Her experience in residencies' was gained while being an artist in residence herself (KKC Klaipėda, LT and Ptarmigan in Tallinn, EE). Some of the results of those residencies are here: www.napatum.terror.lt, http://vimeo.com/user764963/sheltertown.
