Children’s Forest Pavilion will be composed as a playscape, an immersive environment and an educational installation dedicated to unfolding timescales, processes and forces that have shaped forests of Baltic States and Finland in the past, but most importantly, how they will develop in the future. The main role in developing and curating this installation is given to a collaboration with children and young adults as consultants, allies and the pavilion's ideal audience to highlight the need for long term cultural initiatives and role of education in promoting the cyclical paradigm of sustainability.

Nida Art Colony (NAC) is a subdivision of Vilnius Academy of Arts situated within the particular and distinct cultural landscape of the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a resourceful platform, it runs an artist-in-residence programme, Nida Doctoral School, and initiates art, education and research projects as well as artists’ commissions. NAC has previously participated at the International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia in 2015 and 2019 with the projects Museum by Dainius Liškevičius and Sun and Sea (Marina) by Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, Vaiva Grainytė and Lina Lapelytė. Participation in the 18th International Architecture Exhibition marks the first time NAC of Vilnius Academy of Arts will take part in the Architecture Biennale.

Children’s Forest Pavilion will be created by Neringa Forest Architecture project by Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts in collaboration with School of Creativity (LT) and Mustarinda Association (FI)
