NIDA’S ABANDONED SUMMER STAGE

Presentation and discussion on the activation of the abandoned space next to the Nida library. The area, which is now used as a parking lot, still hosts ruins of what once was the Nida summer stage. Originally built in the late 1960s this area was used for various types of local cultural activities. 

The team of the Neringa Forest Architecture project at NAC is proposing to the municipality to renovate the structure and open the site again for the local community and guests to use the space for cultural activities. 

Thanks to the local community for sharing open questions, memories and concerns regarding the need for more public space in Nida and renovation possibility of the existing ruin of summer stage. It was lovely to gather again, after a long time. Many thanks to Neringa Museum and Lina Motuzienė for hosting the meeting.
