On Thursday, 5 August, 7 pm Studio for Propositional Cinema settles in Zuikio daržas for an evening of fables and music. We will read and listen to the weird, fantastic and cruel twists of various stories and let them empower us against the ideological supremacy of the real. We would like to share this fabulous time and the feverish dreams it may lead to.

This event is part of a residency by Studio for Propositional Cinema at NAC of Vilnius Academy of Arts. Featuring readings, tunes and contributions by Keren Cytter, Monika Kalinauskaitė, Audrius Pocius, DJ Try My Love and others.

Studio for Propositional Cinema (inaugurated in Düsseldorf in 2013) works between various cultural forms, including the production of images, language, and sound, formed in various permutations, primarily within exhibition and publishing formats. A jury member in 2019 for the contemporary art competition JCDecaux Award, organized by Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius, they are currently developing the exhibition “Fabulist Manifesto: Audio/Visual Agitprop (for Children)” for Swallow project space in Vilnius. In Nida they will produce a new 16mm film, their first film work, which will be premiered at Swallow in August 2021. “Myths and Manifestos”, a collection of their writings from 2013 to 2021 will be published by Kunstverein München and König Books this autumn.

The event is partially funded by Lithuanian Council for Culture.
