| We, from Nida, wish you health and strength, patience and solidarity, light and optimism, and the capability to continue caring, sharing, and seeing love. We still have time, timber, sea, and dunes, and we look forward to welcoming you at NAC in 2021! While gradually more and more daylight will enter our daily lives indicating the upcoming change of seasons, forestry works in the Curonian Spit are ongoing, this landscape is constantly changing, it is actively being formed and managed. Mountain pines that were planted during afforestation efforts throughout the 19th century to control movement of the sand are currently being cut near Budnio Ragas. Foresters reconstructive felling plans outline areas where this specific woodland will be replaced by birch and regular pines forest. The mountain pines are being shredded into chips and transported to become biofuel.
