In February, artists Mohadeseh Rahimitabar and Susie Green are taking up studios at NAC, while Marina Cavadini is staying for one more month. We also welcome returning artists Anna Romanenko, Björn Kühn, and Signe Boe.

Mohadeseh Rahimitabar (born in Iran, currently based in The Hague) works in a variety of media, including print, painting, sculpture, video, and performance. She is interested in questioning the role of norms, values, and rules that shape the identities and human bodies in social and cultural contexts.
Her works have been exhibited in HEREart, New York (2018) and Women Made Gallery, Chicago (2017). Stroom Den Haag made her stay at Nida Art Colony possible.

Anna Romanenko and Björn Kühn are based in Germany. In their work, they build corporeal adapters in order to turn reception into a more complex process that happens between the body of the work and the human body. Romanenko and Kühn were participants of 2016 and 2018 NAC summer exhibitions. They are co-founders of Verlag für Handbücher, a publishing house dedicated to publishing useful writing by artists.

Susie Green (based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) works predominantly in painting, performance, and sculpture. Green’s practice encompasses exhibition-making, live music, and fashion, focusing on the human body as a site for ornamentation and sensuality.
Her works have been presented at Kunstraum (2019) and Jerwood Space (2018) in London, and Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2018). Her stay in Nida is made possible by a scholarship from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.

Signe Boe is primarily working in an expanded sculptural field where she is unfolding narratives through sculptural elements, surfaces and different temporalities. Boe does not have a base but is currently residing in a hotel in Copenhagen.
Boe’s works were recently exhibited in Kunsthal Aarhus, Aarhus (2019), CCC Projects, Copenhagen (2019) and Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius (2019).

Marina Cavadini is based between Chicago and Milan. She operates within the field of ecology, exploring images that form the idea of the natural. In her practice, Cavadini collaborates with non-humankind. She produces work that is grounded in science and technology studies, feminist theory, and the environmental humanities.
Cavaldini’s works have been exhibited at The Sullivan Galleries, Chicago (2017), Hyde Park Center, Chicago (2017), Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection, Chicago (2017), and La Triennale di Milano, Milan (2017).
