While touring the country President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda decided to relax in Nida for a couple of days. He and his team stopped by Nida Art Colony, where they met the team, artists-in-residence and visited the summer exhibition.

Firstly he met painter prof. Arvydas Šaltenis, who one could almost call the founding father of colony - A. Šaltenis was one of the first people to imagine an institution for artists in this exact spot many years ago. Later on the president met artist Lina Lapelytė, who just recently came to Lithuania from Venice, and was gifted a signed copy of award-winning opera-performace. Our producer Linas showed around the place and briefly told about the various ways Colony operates, guides Austėja and Viktorija mediated the summer exhibition 'Life Intense', finally artists-in-residence Emilija Škarnulytė and Joana Castro & Maurícia Barreira Neves welcomed everyone in their studios and introduced their work.

'I was fascinated by the multiculturalism of Nida Art Colony and the tremendous energy of its inhabitants', Gitanas Nausėda shared his impressions afterwards.
