On the 25th of May (Saturday) from 2 pm to 6 pm you are invited to visit Kioskas display by Nida Art Colony resident Lena Sieder-Semlitsch. The project will take place at Kaunas Artists House  (V. Putvinskio g. 56, Kaunas) during Putvinskis street festival.
Kiosk is the prototype of a common kiosk, but meant for the artists publications only. It moves between the boundaries of sculpture and display. It is mobile and can change its form according to the surroundings, functioning as 'a library of the flaneur'. Kiosk could be installed anywhere, offering a variety of artistic publications for the passers-by.

Kiosk is an ongoing project. Artist Lena Sieder-Semlitsch collects artists’ publications in order to present them in her kiosk. Rarity and the attention to details of the non-commercial printed format are her main interests.

During the event at Kaunas Artist House, Lena will present the material she has gathered and collected so far. Amongst the publications one finds exhibition catalogues, portfolios, monographs, experimental prose or graphical experiments - all of them offering the participatory potential of approaching, flicking through, and discovering something new.

Lena Sieder-Semlitsch (DE) (b. 1991) is an artist living and working in Vienna. She studied Fine arts at the University of Applied Art in Austria. Lena works with a broadened concept of painting. Aside from paintings on canvas she creates rooms and situations in a painterly manner. Since 2018 she is co-running the independent art space White Dwarf Projects in Vienna, where she is also publishing a magazine.

This event is part of Putvinskis street festival 2019 programme, organized by Kaunas Artist House. All events are free of charge.
