On the 26th of February, the residents of Nida Art Colony Ai Sugiura (JP), Laura Pugno (IT), Susanna Flock (AT), Leonhard Muellner (AT), and Kristina Marić (HR) opened their studio doors and presented projects and research developed during their stay.

Ai Sugiura (JP) has been investigating research about the boundaries between inside and outside. The artist presented photography series and collages of entrances to the buildings, windows, and objects placed on them.

At the residency, Laura Pugno (IT) developed her project Mis-Love. She was interested in the trend of plants becoming a recurrent and fashionable feature in our everyday life. In her studio Laura created an installation and photography series putting into an ironic perspective the over-caring of plants.

During the residency, Susanna Flock (AT) has been experimenting with a variety of ingredients and shapes to create colorful sugar glass pieces.

Leonhard Muellner (AT) presented his research of architecture and games through the series of drawings on plexiglass.

Kristina Marić (HR) was researching the concept of borders and territories. Referring to the act of animals marking their territories, Kristina made a video were she is marking the dunes with yellow paint. Kristina also presented her textile work You Cannot Put the Strong Roots in the Sand and documentation of the research trip for the sand exchanges between the countries.
