‘She works a 9-5 job, but on weekends, she's a day tripper.' The exhibition Day Tripper investigates the visitor, the tourist, the guest, the spectator, the toe dipper… What do you bring back from your holidays? Souvenirs, rocks, alcohol, chocolates, postcards, bottles of sand…
As a display of intrigue, fascination, and wonder the exhibit shall consist of the artworks by current residents at Nida Art Colony - Katherina Heil, Cecilia Hultman, Norbert Tukaj, and Demelza Watts - in combination with the curiosities brought by the locals and visitors of Nida. We are asking the visitors to bring objects to the opening of the exhibition Day Tripper so they could become a part of the display at the project space Kiosk. These objects can be of any kind: souvenirs from travels, items from collections, heirlooms, photographs, letters, postcards, found shells, rocks, any items that you would like to put on temporary display for the rest of Nida to see. Children and adults alike, we are interested in all perspectives. The exhibition will run until the 27th of December.
