On April 28th, Colony's residents Haruka Yamada (JP), Volker Kreidler (DE), Andrea Junekova (SK), and Marta Forsberg (SE) presented their projects at the Open Studios event. On April 20th, Austeja Vilkaityte (LT) presented her performance Elona Salonen. External Sensations.

Volker Kreidler (DE) has been working on the issues of bird migration and the impact of human activity to bird migration during the last 40‒50 years. He documented birds in Rybachy bird observatory (Kaliningrad region) and is planning to continue his research in Vente Cape bird observatory this autumn.

While searching for possible present and future realities, as a result Marta Forsberg (SE) presented a video and music piece based on her diary.

Andrea Junekova (SK) presented an installation “Until the light takes us, my friend” and few video works. The art pieces are based on time repetition and life cycles that are interconnected with internal harmony and cosmos. The residency of Andrea is partly supported by Slovak Arts Council.

Haruka Yamada (JP) has been working on site-specific project “Sun of the City”, a drawing on a wall which functions as a sundial. For her drawings as well she used traces of found rubbish.

Austeja Vilkaityte (LT) presented a performance “Elona Salonen. External sensations” as a part of her ongoing project “Sensations”. The performance focused on space itself, objects in it, past, memory, life and specificity of Vilnius micro-districts in late 90’s.
