| Last Open Studio event in 2017 was held on 29th of December and involved six residents Teodora Nikčevic (ME), Neja Tomšic (SI), Marija Nemčenko (LT/UK), Nicola Godman (SE/CA), Evamaria Liane Müller (AT), Anna-Sofie Lugmeier (DE), who opened their studios and workshops to the public. |
| The phrase “There will be no other end of the world” by Czeslaw Milosz served as the starting point for Teodora Nikčevic (ME). The phrase illustrates a drawn horizon line beyond which nothing seems to exist. Neja Tomšic (SI) has been working on the book of her ongoing project “Tea for Five: Opium Clippers”. The first two chapters are dedicated to objects funded by the opium trade in the UK and USA. Marija Nemčenko (LT/UK) presented a performative feast “How to bake a swan?” in the project space “Kiosk”. 15 years ago the UK newspaper “The Sun” published an article about migrants from Eastern Europe barbecuing and eating the royal birds. Marija has also been exploring the food festivals in Lithuania. Nicola Godman (SE/CA) disrupted panoramic views by leaving foreign objects in tourist sites. Evamaria Liane Müller (AT) presented a sound installation exploring the physical and mental limitations of a human being subjected to isolation or simulation of space. An image by Anna-Sofie Lugmeier (DE) worked as a link to a video essay about a seen creature. |
