Mette Sandfær sees the reuse of materials as a productive constraint that pushes her to constantly rethink her approach.

Found everyday objects, like pizza boxes or drying racks, are central to her work. Through their transformation from the familiar to the absurd, she investigate the changing roles and relationships of objects.

Sandfær’s practice challenges conventions and hierarchies, aiming to question dominant perceptions and open new ways of seeing.

Found or easily accessible materials are at the heart of her work, valued for their sculptural potential, embedded histories, and inherent qualities.

Sandfær often arrange objects in installations to explore the spaces and dialogues between them.

Rooted in a phenomenological understanding, her work invites viewers to experience space and objects physically and emotionally, turning the installation into an active, sensory encounter.
