‘Art in everyday life’, Workshop by VDA faculty of Klaipėda (Graphic design department) and VDA faculty of Vilnius (Graphic art department)

Interdepartmental workshop on the theme of the conceptual graphic design magazine “Mundane Art”.

In cooperation between the Graphic Art BA II and Graphic Design BA II courses of Vilnius Academy of Arts, Vilnius Faculty, and Klaipėda Faculty, the participants will work in teams to create the covers of the joint publication, participate in lectures on the topics of book art and layout, organise bookbinding workshops, and mutually share the knowledge acquired in their study programmes with the students from the opposite department. They will integrate the visual material collected in Nida and its surroundings into the layouts of individual flaps, and students will solve the problems of layout, design and binding of the publication.

The workshop will combine individual and team work, with theoretical and practical sessions involving students from both departments. The outcome of the workshop – a physical publication – will be exchanged between the departments at the end of the activities.
