Toms Kokins is Latvian born architect currently based in Umeå, Sweden where he teaches at Umeå School of Architecture. Kokins is participating in NFA residency program where he pursues his research on resource driven colonisation in the context of Baltic Sea region and timber industry. Through built experiments and interventions Kokins explores how built form can serve as a spatial articulation revealing hidden power structures and amplifying untold narratives of local craft, labour an ecologies.
