Ryan Chang is an Orlando-based filmmaker and founder of “Gemini Film Studios”, working at the intersection of experimental cinema, mythology, and psychological transformation. His films merge symbolic imagery, digital alchemy, and mythic narrative to explore eroticism, presence, and the tension between technology and spirit. His award-winning short “Thoth” (2025) was the only U.S. winner at the International Avant-Garde Awards and will be screened at Replay International Film Festival. Previous works include “Moon in Scorpio” and “Libra: Respect in Diamonds”.
During the residency at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts, the artist developed foundational visual and structural research for two upcoming “Gemini Film Studios” projects; “Pisces Rising” and “Bitches Go Round.” The focus is on mapping color symbolism, experimental editing rhythms, and mythic narrative structures that link the two works within a broader cinematic cycle. Drawing inspiration from the Baltic light, coastal textures, and the quiet environment of Neringa, the artist examined the intersections of landscape, psychology, and cinematic form. The aim is to refine the conceptual architecture that will guide the next phase of development for both films.
