Justina Moncevičiūtė lives and works between Berlin and Trakai. Her practice investigates material identities, their transformations, and fluidity through both practical and theoretical approaches. Using natural materials and textile-based, hands-on processes, she engages in analogue experimentation to disrupt (gender) biases and render new, tangible narratives. Her research results in sculptural works and installations, often resembling schematic building models or ‘skeletons’ of modernist architecture.
Moncevičiūtė lectures at various universities and leads workshops for students and children, focusing on textiles and clay in spatial contexts. Her work has been featured internationally, in galleries, museums, and design festivals, including the 15th Westerwald Prize and Berlinische Galerie in Germany, COLLECT in London, and Dutch Design Week.
