Juliane Jaschnow is a filmmaker and artist based in Leipzig, Germany. Working across film, video, installation, object and print, her practice explores contemporary and historical image politics, collective narratives and processes of memory – with a particular focus on their role in shaping identity. She studied visual arts at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts, specialising in expanded cinema and photography, and  is a graduate of the Professional Media Master Class PMMC for artistic documentary film at the Werkleitz Centre for Media Arts. Jaschnow’s work has been shown at numerous international festivals and exhibitions, including transmediale in Berlin, Deichtorhallen Hamburg, the National Gallery Prague, silent green in Berlin, DOK Leipzig and steirischer herbst in Graz. She is a member of the Filmic Initiative Leipzig (FILZ), a co-founder and curator of .mpeg art space and a member of Initiative Kino in Bewegung.
