Jo Lathwood lives and works in Bristol, UK. Lathwood’s practice spans drawing, sculpture, film, and large installations in galleries and public spaces. She is acutely aware of our impact on our environment and regularly makes work with and about recycled and waste materials. She holds a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from the University of Brighton and co-directed Ore and Ingot, a travelling bronze foundry (2012–2018). She has a studio at Spike Island, Bristol, and served on its studio selection panel between 2017 and 2022. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees for BRICKS, a gallery, studio, and creative business complex in Bristol. Themes such as transitions, viewpoints, illusions, aspirations, environmentalism, and anti-capitalism are woven through her practice.

The residency is supported by funding from Arts Council England.
