Gediminas Akstinas is a visual artist based in Vilnius, best known for his “shelf” works – a hybrid form of creation and presentation that he has been developing since the early 1990s. This approach allows him to freely combine elements of various visual disciplines, including sculpture, architecture, drawing and painting, resulting in layered and conceptually rich installations.

He currently teaches sculpture at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art. His teaching practice often functions as an extension of his artistic work, providing a space for exploration and continuity. His recent exhibitions include Blood Stone (with Patricija Jurkšaitytė, Pranas Domšaitis Gallery, 2025), I Want to Go Home (Pamėnkalnis Gallery, 2023), and The Raft (Sodų 4 project space, 2018).
