Ching-Yu Cheng is based between Porto and Taipei. She considers herself as an artist in need of being placed in a certain environment out of the artist’s struggling reality and to practice her own survival kits in the art realm. Doing art residencies as the conditions being placed in certain environment; Azores islands “Azores2027 and Maravilha Biennale” Porto “de Liceiras18” in Portugal, Greece “Victoria Square Project”, Latvia “LMS-Zvartava Castle”, Lithuania “Verpejos”, Iceland “SIM” and Taiwan “Pier2” with grants from Europe (Lithuanian Council of Culture, Azores2027 and Cultura e Desporto do Porto, E.M., S.A.) and Taiwan (Cultural Affairs Taipei/Kaohsiung City Government, National Arts and Culture Foundation Taiwan and Ministry of Culture Taiwan). BA Architecture Design at Shih-Chien University and MFA Arts and Design for Public Space at University of Porto, Faculty of Fine Arts.
