Andrej Polukord is an artist living and working between Vilnius and Vienna. His installations, performances, and video art projects create ambiguous, unpredictable environments and absurd situations. The themes of everyday life, ecology, and the ethical relationship between human and nature in the artist’s work are often revealed through the means of humor, adventure, and storytelling. Polukord’s recent and ongoing photography/performance project Woodstatues researches the purpose of tree-trunks, left by loggers standing alone in deforested fields, in former Ancient Wood forests. In 2020, Polukord reproduced the roof motif Roofs of Vilnius at the group exhibition Performing the Fringe in Konsthall C, Stockholm.
