Algirdas Jakas is a Vilnius-based artist working with a diverse array of materials that he combines with drawing. His practice revolves around the topics of elasticity, transparency (of bodies), alternative self-help practices, and neo-hypochondria. He has participated in a number of two-person shows with Eglė Ruibytė at Atletika Gallery and in Lentvaris, an off-space event organised by the Lokomotif project space. Algirdas recently took part in a group show at XY Gallery in Olomouc, A. Mončio House-Museum in Palanga, and in a RUPERT AEP final show. He graduated in Printmaking from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and in Sculpture from the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts (HFBK).
